Children learn best when they feel secure, understood and valued. At King’s Canterbury, Bengaluru, pastoral care is integral to learning and woven through the relationships, routines and expectations of everyday school life. Adults know children well, listen carefully and create the security from which confidence and independence grow. Children learn to understand emotions, build positive relationships, seek support when needed, respond constructively to challenge and recognise the responsibilities of belonging to a community.
Every child will belong to one of four Houses: Morpurgo, Harvey, Grange and Walpole. The House system will strengthen belonging and shared identity while providing opportunities for collaboration, participation and celebration.
Through academic, sporting, artistic and community activities, the Houses will bring the school’s four Cs of Curiosity, Creativity, Connection and Character to life, helping children develop confidence, responsibility and teamwork.
